Rivers State responds to the public on the fuel scarcity going on.

Rivers state government has said they are concerned with the hardship in the state due to fuel scarcity and has appealed with people outside the axis of Eleme and Port Harcourt refinery to start the distribution of petroleum products in the state in order to help the public reduce the suffering. The commissioner for energy and natural resources Mr. Oke Amadi spoke on behalf of the government saying the Rivers State government will not intervene in the eleme/akpajo road because it is a federal road and not a state road. He said the federal government has failed to payback money spent on federal roads to the state but if it were to be other states like Akwa-ibom the federal govt will make a refund.

On the other hand, Independent Petroleum Marketers Association(Rivers State Chapter) are saying the association has had a take with NUPENG and PTD and they are assuring the state that before today runs out, they’ll be able to put the strike under control.
